North Miami Beach Academy - Yeffrens Lop

Yeffrens Lopez started his tennis career in Venezuela. As a junior player, He was ranked No. 2 in Bolivar State, No. 5 in Oriental Conference and No. 8 nationally in Venezuela from 1988-92. And played ITF and ATP tournaments in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, Panama and United States. As a coach, with more than 25 years of experience, he has earned FVT, ITF, PTR, ITA, and NCAA among other certifications.

He moved to US in 2010, and previous to join our staff, Yeffrens worked as a private coach in Davie, Fl. with high performance junior players, managing their training, tournaments, and performance. He also works as a Store Manager at Skyros Sports in Doral, Fl. And in Tennis Plaza in Aventura. He has coached the Advance Group, after-school program, and adult clinics at FIT Tennis Academy in Davie (2017 -2019) and in Canas Tennis Academy in Aventura (2014 – 2016). 

Yeffrens was named a Barry University Tennis Women Team Volunteer Assistant Coach in January 2016, he assisted and collaborated with the staff for the Buccaneers' 2017 and 2018 South Region, Sunshine State Conference Tournament and SSC regular season championships. In 2018, Lopez helped coach the Bucs to a second consecutive NCAA Division II championship, following a 28-0 season. Barry went 30-0 to win it all a year earlier. He helped coach a team in 2018 that earned four All-America and six All-SSC honors. With the continue effort and coaching staff, Barry U. women’s team won third straight National Championship in 2019 and completed the season ranked No.1 in NCAA.

Lopez earned an associate’s degree from Unilatina International College and a bachelor degree in business administration from Florida National University.
