Howard Spinner, Ph.D., Ed.S, M.S., B.S

Dr. Howard Spinner brings a vast amount of experience to North Miami Beach Academy.

He began his career with a bachelors degree and a masters degree in Miami as a special

education teacher working with students who had learning disabilities. In his classroom

he created a center approach where his students were able to use their learning strengths

to master academic concepts while he used researched based techniques to remediate

learning weaknesses.


In order to satisfy his desire for professional growth, Dr. Spinner enrolled at Nova

University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed his coursework and was awarded

an Educational Specialist degree in mathematics with certification in gifted student

education, administration and supervision. While he was teaching gifted students, he was

inspired to write academic programs and grants.


Adding to his several degrees and certifications, Dr. Spinner earned his Ph.D. in

mathematics and learning environments. He presented his thesis at the Annual Meeting

of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), New Orleans. His study

was also published in the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education .

Being certified to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Dr. Spinner has

helped students prepare for the Test of English for Foreign Learners (TOEFL) which is

required by institutions of higher learning for admission to their academic programs.
